The education fund has been set up to assist in higher education of both girls and boys. Three boys from Lodwar have completed their studies in college of Islamic Studies, Kisauni. Mohamed Salim graduated with honors, and is currently in Mbale International Islamic University, doing a degree course in Islamic Studies. He started in August 2006 for his first year and will be completing his course during 2009. Currently he is in his 3rd and final year. His total fees and other costs including transport, accommodation, food came nearly shs150,000 per annum. Saidi Abdi Qadir and Mohamed Noor Abdallah graduated in 2006 from Kisauni. Noor Abdullah was employed at Isiolo as a teacher in the Idadia section and in 2007 joined Islamic College Thika for further. Saidi A Qadir is at teaching at kikambala. Harun Abubakar has also graduated from Kisauni in 2008.
We have also sponsored a total of seven girls at Mahad Pangani Girls Training Institute. Of these sisters Amarra and Faima Mohamed have completed the four year course. At present, there is one girl from Ngurumaini in he final year. We hope to sponsor more girl students from Turkana and West Pokot in the future.
In collaboration with Bro Mohamed Azhar of Masomo Foundation, we have sponsored 19 students in secondary school in Turakana and Pokot District which include four girls. Through this scheme, all applications are sent to Bro Mohamed Azhar, who in turn scrutinizes them and approves sponshership of applicants with a pass mark of over 60%. The foundation sends Masomo Foundation, the cheque for the fees for the three terms for onward submission to the respective schools.

One of the ex-boys of the Lodwar Centre had completed his ‘O’ level and had joined the Al Furqan Training Institute. He joined in January 2007 and shall be there for the next 4 years. Lobuin Juma another boy from Lodwar has been admitted to the Kenyatta University for a 4 year course in Bachelor of Science in Community Resource Management. His total fees and other expenditure for the first year is shs.167,200 which was paid by this foundation.
