NDALANI ISLAMIC CENTER

The Quran memorization centre is home to 20 orphans and those from poor backgrounds at any given time. The children below 7 years are taken from maginalized areas such as Turkana, West Pokot, Kajiado, Marsabit and such counties. At times special consideration is made for those who come from urban areas but they have to be orphans who lack support structures or those that affording three meals a day is a struggle for them. The children undergo interviews to determine their abilities to memorize the Quran.

The centre also hosts an ECD center. The school is meant to give the children the basics of secular education as they pursue religious knowledge. After the 3 years course, the children proceed to primary school in our feeder schools that we have partnered with. The sequence goes on up-to the tertiary level of education as per the structures set.

The centre has seen students graduate to become imams and teachers who now tutor other students in the memorization and religious subjects in various centers around the country.

The centre serves as an Islamic centre to the local community. The organization organizes iftar for the community everyday of Ramadhan which culminates with a luncheon on the Eid day. On the Eid ul Adh-ha, after slaughtering at the centre, meat is usually distributed to the locals.
